Skip Bin Permit ACT Government
If your skip is going on a road, footpath, nature strip or parking bay in the ACT Government area, that is council land and the rules below apply. On your own driveway or property, they generally do not.

Conditions the council sets
- A permit is required to use public land where the activity may impact the amenity or other people's enjoyment of the area (Public Unleased Land Act 2013); commercial waste bins/skips are named as a permitted object type
- Supporting documents that may be required: approved temporary traffic management plan, current public liability insurance, risk management plan, parking management plan, dilapidation report and detailed site plan, and landscape/tree management plan
- Land use is charged per square metre of land used per day or part thereof, at a tier rate set by the zone the land falls in
- Permit terms and conditions are issued to the applicant by email - specific placement rules (kerb clearance, reflectors/lighting, hours, hydrants) are NOT published on this page

Applications go through ACT Government directly, not through us. Start here, and allow Assessed within 28 days of receiving all relevant documentation. Book the bin for a date that gives the permit time to come through, and have your delivery address and dates ready.
