If your skip is going on a road, footpath, nature strip or parking bay in the City of Parramatta Council area, that is council land and the rules below apply. On your own driveway or property, they generally do not.

Conditions the council sets
- Council has an approval role over "Occupying the road reserve, including for waste containers", and a permit is required before the activity commences
- "The road reserve includes roads, footpaths, kerbs and gutters and the nature strip"
- A Road Occupancy Licence from the NSW roads authority may also be required, including for works on State or regional roads, on bus lanes or close to traffic signals
- "A range of fees, insurance and other requirements may need to accompany applications"
- Fees are charged per container by length (up to 5 lineal metres, or over 5 lineal metres) and by area band (CBD; high density/town centre; all other areas), plus a fee for each additional day

Applications go through City of Parramatta Council directly, not through us. Start here, and allow "Urgent applications must be submitted before 9am on the business day (that is Monday to Friday) prior to the day of the proposed occupancy."
