Conditions the council sets

  • 'No waste skip bin may be stored, placed or otherwise permitted to stand on any footpath/roadway that does not allow a minimum pedestrian access of 2 metres clearance on a footpath or vehicle access of 3 metres clearance on a roadway.'
  • 'Irrespective of the colour of the container, retro-reflective tape must be used. This tape is to be applied around the entirety of the rim on all bins and is to have a minimum width of 50mm.'
  • 'Flashing yellow lights should be mounted on the waste skip bin when placed within the road reserve at locations that are poorly lit i.e. where there is no street lighting... mounted on the front and rear panels... and operates during hours of darkness.'
  • 'Each bin is to have the name of the supplier and a 24-hour contact phone number clearly indicated on the side of the container. Council will not allow waste skip bins without adequate identification to be placed in public places.'
  • Bins cannot be placed where vehicles are prohibited from parking or stopping under the Road Rules 2014, must not obstruct vehicles entering or leaving premises, must not interfere with sight lines, and must not obstruct access to utility services requiring 24 hour servicing. Maximum dimensions: Length <7.0m, Width <2.5m, Height <2.0m.
