Skip Bin Permit Maitland City Council
If your skip is going on a road, footpath, nature strip or parking bay in the Maitland City Council area, that is council land and the rules below apply. On your own driveway or property, they generally do not. "Bulk and skip waste containers may only be placed on roads when there is not enough space on the property you're disposing waste from."

Conditions the council sets
- "Bulk and skip waste containers may only be placed on roads when there is not enough space on the property you're disposing waste from."
- "Bulk and skip waste containers must not be delivered to either the road reserve or the property site prior to 7am Monday to Friday or prior to 8am Saturday. Containers must not be delivered to either the road reserve or the property site on a Sunday or a Public Holiday."
- "Bulky and skip waste containers should also not be placed in poorly lit areas", and must not cause damage to roads or nearby properties or be a safety risk to any person
- Placement must accord with "NSW Centre for Road Safety, Technical Direction, TD 2009 SR01 Placement of Bulk and Skip Waste Containers"
- "Food waste, dangerous or hazardous wastes shall not be placed in any bulk and skip waste containers."
