Skip Bin Permit Maroondah City Council
If your skip is going on a road, footpath, nature strip or parking bay in the Maroondah City Council area, that is council land and the rules below apply. On your own driveway or property, they generally do not. "No permit is required if the skip bin or bulk waste container is placed on private land and is permitted under the Maroondah Planning Scheme."

Conditions the council sets
- A permit is required if the skip bin or bulk waste container is placed on Council land, "this includes the nature strip and road"; fines apply where no permit has been issued
- The bin must "comply with the VicRoads guidelines for the placement of skips on roadsides"
- The bin must "be placed in a safe location" and "not cause damage to Council property/infrastructure"
- "Bins must not be on site for longer than the period specified on the permit"
- "The skip bin/bulk waste container must cause no nuisance, such as smell"; the bin hire company and/or property owner is responsible for clearing any rubbish dumped around the bin
