Skip Bin Permit Toowoomba Regional Council

If your skip is going on a road, footpath, nature strip or parking bay in the Toowoomba Regional Council area, that is council land and the rules below apply. On your own driveway or property, they generally do not.

Conditions the council sets

  • To avoid needing approval the bin must be on the footpath for no longer than 72 hours and must adjoin a property you occupy
  • Clearances apply: 500 mm from a concrete path or cycleway, 800 mm from electricity, 600 mm from a water meter, sewer or water main, 1 m from a hydrant, valve, junction box, underground cable or the kerb, 2 m from an intersection and 5 m from a bus zone
  • A 2.5 m pedestrian corridor and a 3 m cycle corridor must stay unrestricted

How to apply

Applications go through Toowoomba Regional Council directly, not through us. Start with the council's fee schedule or call the council on 131 872. The council allows up to 8 weeks to process an application and asks for it a minimum of 12 weeks ahead — book the bin for a date that gives the permit time to come through, and have your delivery address and dates ready.
