To avoid needing approval the bin must be on the footpath for no longer than 72 hours and must adjoin a property you occupy
Clearances apply: 500 mm from a concrete path or cycleway, 800 mm from electricity, 600 mm from a water meter, sewer or water main, 1 m from a hydrant, valve, junction box, underground cable or the kerb, 2 m from an intersection and 5 m from a bus zone
A 2.5 m pedestrian corridor and a 3 m cycle corridor must stay unrestricted
