Skip Bin Permit Bayside Council

This page covers Bayside Council in New South Wales — the Rockdale and Botany Bay merger that takes in Mascot, Botany, Rockdale and Brighton-Le-Sands, not the Bayside City Council around Brighton and Sandringham in Victoria. If your skip is going anywhere but your own driveway or yard here, Council's occupy-road process and its fee apply.

Conditions the council sets

  • A single dwelling residence placing a skip for up to 5 days pays no application fee at all — only the daily occupancy charge applies
  • Bins over 2.5m³ are charged at roughly double the rate of a mini skip, per day
  • Public liability insurance of at least $20 million is required, current to at least 3 months after the placement ends
  • Council states a minimum of 10 working days is needed to assess the application — longer for larger works or classified roads

How to apply

Apply through Bayside Council's Occupy Road with Unregistered Item page, either online or in person at the Rockdale (444–446 Princes Highway) or Eastgardens (Westfield Eastgardens) Customer Service Centres. Council can be reached on 1300 581 299 or council@bayside.nsw.gov.au.

A note on what we can and cannot tell you

We hire the bin; we don't submit the road occupancy application on your behalf. What's above is what Bayside Council's own form said when we checked it — the council's page is the authority if anything has since changed.
