If your skip is going on a road, footpath or road reservation in the Brighton Council area (Bridgewater, Brighton, Gagebrook and surrounds north of Hobart), that is council land and the rules below apply. On your own driveway or property, they generally do not.

Conditions the council sets
- The road permit scheme is administered by the council's Works Department and is split by what the activity affects: road reservation only (Permit A), driveway or footpath (Permit B), or road, kerb and channel (Permit C)
- The Permit A fee for works in the road reservation only is listed as "to be advised" — the council quotes it when you ask
- No published line names skip bins, so confirm with the council which permit (if any) your placement needs before delivery
How to apply
Applications go through Brighton Council directly, not through us. Start from the council's fees and charges page or call (03) 6268 7000 and ask the Works Department about a bin in the road reservation. Book the bin for a date that gives any permit time to come through, and have your delivery address and dates ready.
