Skip Bin Permit City of Salisbury
If your skip is going on a road, footpath, nature strip or parking bay in the City of Salisbury area, that is council land and the rules below apply. On your own driveway or property, they generally do not. "Please note rubbish skips/shipping containers etc on private land do not require council approval."

Conditions the council sets
- 'Hoarding' includes placing mini skips on council land or roads; a Hoarding Permit Application must be lodged with Council prior to the placement of the bin
- At all times provision shall be made for pedestrian access, which could include a minimum 1200mm wide continuous access path of travel
- The area is to be delineated with bunting flags or temporary fencing with appropriate flashing lights or reflective material which are to be operating at night and is to be monitored/maintained at all times
- The road outside the area specified in the permit shall be kept clear of plant, equipment, materials, debris and rubbish at all times
- A certificate of currency for $20 million public risk insurance must be provided to the council prior to the item being placed on the road
