Skip Bin Permit Fairfield City Council
Fairfield City Council treats a skip bin on the footpath or roadway the same way it treats any other piece of equipment occupying its land — you need a road occupancy permit before it goes down, whether the job is in Cabramatta, Bonnyrigg, Smithfield or anywhere else in the LGA. On your own driveway or yard, none of this applies.

Conditions the council sets
- A road occupancy permit is required for any construction or maintenance work — skip bins included — placed on a Fairfield-controlled footpath or road
- Applicants must hold at least $10 million in public liability insurance
- A colour dilapidation report of the surrounding footpath and roadway is required before the bin is delivered, so any pre-existing damage is on record
- Ten working days should be allowed for the application to be processed; the bin can't be placed until the permit comes through

A note on what we can and cannot tell you
We're a skip bin hire company, not a permit authority — we can't lodge the road occupancy application for you. The figures above are what Fairfield City Council had published when we checked; always confirm against the council's own form before you commit to a date.
