On the council's 2026-27 MOSPLAN Fees & Charges, skip bins within a parking lane are charged per day: a 2m³ bin is $28.00 per day in the first week and $42.50 per day in subsequent weeks; a bin over 2m³ up to 6m³ is $56.00 per day in the first week and $68.50 per day after that. Skip bins larger than 6m³ are prohibited.

Where can a skip bin not be placed in Mosman?

Conditions the council sets

"No skip bin may be stored, placed or otherwise permitted to stand on any public road, inclusive of the footpath, road related area or in any public place in breach of the conditions of this approval"
Skip bins must not be placed anywhere it is illegal to stop or park a motor vehicle under the Australian Road Rules — including within 10m of an intersection, near pedestrian crossings and bus stops, on median strips, or blocking driveways
Bins must not reduce the available footpath width to below 1.5m, obstruct footpath ramps, or sit directly above underground services
Each skip bin must display the supplier's name, address and telephone number, including an after-hours number
No putrescible, dangerous or hazardous waste in a skip on public land; bins must be covered during transit
Bins should be light in colour with reflective material on the rear panel so they are visible after dark
