Skip Bin Permit Shoalhaven City Council

Nowra, Bomaderry, Berry, Huskisson, Ulladulla — Shoalhaven City Council covers a long stretch of the NSW South Coast, and unlike most councils on this list, its own fee schedule has nothing filed under skip bins, waste containers, or bulk bins at all.

Shoalhaven skip bin permit at a glance

Permit needed for public land Likely yes, under Section 68 of the Local Government Act 1993 — but Council doesn't confirm this in its own words on a dedicated page
Fee Not published for skip bins specifically — Council assesses it case by case
Coverage Shoalhaven LGA — Nowra, Bomaderry, Berry, Huskisson, Ulladulla and the South Coast in between

Checked against Shoalhaven City Council's own live fee database and its full 2026-27 Fees and Charges document (161 pages, adopted 29 June 2026) on 4 September 2026. Neither contains a line item for a skip bin, waste container or bulk bin. Search Council's fee database yourself if you want to double-check.

Why we're not printing a dollar figure

  • We searched Council's own searchable fee database for "skip bin," "bin," "footpath," "road reserve," "container," "hoarding" and "Section 68" — nothing skip-bin-specific came back
  • We then downloaded the full adopted Fees and Charges PDF for 2026-27 and text-searched it directly for "skip bin," "waste container" and "bulk bin" — zero matches across all 161 pages
  • A third-party government directory (ABLIS) describes Council's actual practice as assessing the fee case by case, quoting Council's own guidance to "consult the Contact Officer for information on fees to be submitted with your application" — in other words, there's genuinely no fixed number to publish
  • The closest fixed fee on Council's schedule is "Issue of approval for private works in road reserves" at $334.00 under Section 138 of the Roads Act — but that line's own stated purpose is utility works, not skip bins, so we're not presenting it as the answer

What to do instead

If your bin needs to sit on a footpath, nature strip or road anywhere in the Shoalhaven area, contact Council directly before booking — 1300 293 111 — and ask what a placement application for your specific street will cost. A bin kept entirely on your own driveway or yard is the more straightforward option if your property allows it.

A note on what we can and cannot tell you

We hire skip bins; we don't set Shoalhaven's road-approval fees and can't get a placement approved on your behalf. We'd rather say plainly that Council doesn't publish a fixed number here than invent one — Council's Contact Officer is the one who can actually quote your job.
