If your skip is going on a road, footpath, nature strip or parking bay in the Sutherland Shire Council area, that is council land and the rules below apply. On your own driveway or property, they generally do not. You do not need a permit to place a skip bin on private property.

- You must apply at least five days in advance
- Bins can be placed for a maximum of 14 days on the nature strip/footpath, or 7 days on a roadway
- Shipping containers or storage pods are not permitted on Council property
