South-East Queensland is one of our busiest regions, covering Brisbane City through to Moreton Bay. A few local factors are worth knowing before you book.
Storm season and green waste
Brisbane's summer storms generate a huge amount of green waste — fallen branches, damaged trees, garden debris. A dedicated green waste bin is usually the cheapest way to clear it, because clean green loads are mulched rather than landfilled. Just keep it strictly green: one contaminating item reclassifies the whole load. Our guide on what can go in each bin type covers the rules.
Queenslander clear-outs
Clearing under a traditional Queenslander — decades of accumulated timber, old furniture, garden gear — is a classic Brisbane job that people consistently under-size. What looks like a 4m³ job under the house almost always fills 6–8m³ once it's out in daylight. Take the bigger bin; the price step-up is small compared to ordering a second skip.
Placement and access
On your own property — driveway, carport, yard — no permission is needed. On the footpath, verge or road, a council permit is generally required, and requirements differ between Brisbane City, Moreton Bay and neighbouring councils. Most suburban blocks in SEQ have enough room to keep the bin on-property, which is always the simpler path.
Sizing and pricing
The standard range applies across Brisbane and Moreton Bay — from 2m³ minis to large bulk bins, with mixed heavy waste (soil, brick, concrete) restricted to smaller sizes due to truck weight limits. Prices differ by suburb based on depot and tip distances, so search your postcode for live local pricing rather than relying on a city-wide from-price. If you're between sizes, our size guide will settle it.
Delivery
Deliveries run Monday to Saturday with a choice of morning or afternoon windows — book by early afternoon for the best shot at next-day delivery.
