What goes in a green waste skip bin?
Green waste is organic garden material from landscaping, pruning and yard clean-ups. Booking the correct waste type means the bin, weight allowance and pricing are right for your load. Displayed prices include delivery, pickup, GST and accepted waste removal within the bin's conditions.
Accepted materials
- Branches, prunings and clippings
- Leaves, grass and weeds
- Untreated timber and small logs
- Palm fronds and bark
- Plants, shrubs and hedging
Not accepted — prohibited items
Never accepted (no exceptions). These hazardous items are prohibited in every skip bin:
- Asbestos, fibro and fibreglass
- Chemicals, liquids, oils and fuels
- Gas bottles and aerosols
- Paints and solvents
- Batteries
- Clinical or medical waste
Do not place these in the bin. If prohibited items are found after collection, contamination and disposal fees will be charged and the load may be rejected.
Not suitable for this waste type. Treated, painted or laminated timber, soil, turf with soil, and rocks are not green waste — book a general or heavy-waste bin. Large tree trunks and stumps may need special arrangement.
Recommended sizes
A 3m³–9m³ green-waste skip suits most garden and landscaping jobs. See the skip sizes guide to match a size to your job.
